Impressive Pair of Antique Cast Iron Estate Entrance Lamp Posts
An exceptionally decorative and increasingly difficult to find pair of antique architectural lamp posts, believed to have originally flanked the entrance to a substantial private residence, estate driveway or similar period property.
Each lamp features an elegant shepherd’s crook style arm terminating in a decorative lantern housing with ornate finial detailing. Their substantial proportions and weathered patina give them wonderful character, making them ideal for restoration or as striking decorative garden features.
The lamp housings retain ceramic lamp holders internally, however both lamps are untested and should be assumed to require inspection, rewiring or restoration before being connected to the mains.
The black painted finish has naturally weathered over many years, revealing attractive signs of age and use throughout. The lower mounting boxes also show surface corrosion consistent with long-term outdoor use, adding to their authentic architectural character.
Whether restored for use on a period property or incorporated into a landscaping project, these are a superb and increasingly rare matching pair.
